Innis Arden Homes

Innis Arden appeals to homeowners because of the spacious land lots capped at four single-family houses per acre with covenant-protected views. Composed of three plats linked by natural reserves and ravines, the neighborhood is crisscrossed by streets without sidewalks or overhead streetlights, and myriad walking trails. Now, as retirees and homeowners who purchased here pre-1970s begin downsizing, available homes are starting to pop up.
In addition, the 534 home community of Innis Arden in Shoreline, WA has greenbelt reserves, a watershed park, a private beach ,and a community clubhouse with outdoor tennis courts and a pool!
Here is a bit of history about Innis Arden Shoreline. The land was put on the market in October 1940. The Boeing Company bought the land from the Puget Mill Co (Pope and Talbot). The land had been logged off and was just plain stump land. Boeing cleared the land, the streets and then plotted the first addition. Eventually there were three plats. Hugh Russel was the sales agent on the ground. It was asked of Mr. Russel where they got the name "Innis Arden." He is reported to have said that it was named after Mrs. Boeing's girlhood home in Connecticut.
