Lake Stevens Location

Lake Stevens is located southeast of Marysville, north of the city of Snohomish, and east of Everett.

About Lake Stevens

In its early days, Lake Stevens was primarily a resort community, with many public and private resort beaches around the lake. But with people willing to commute further, and the lake’s natural beauty, more and more people were attracted to the area. Lake Stevens has one of only two private airports in Snohomish County.

Since 2005, the population has nearly quadrupled from 7,400 to about 28,000 currently. This is primarily due to an effort called “One Community Around the Lake” to bring the unincorporated areas within the Lake Stevens city limits. I see home values holding their own in this area as it is very popular and has several economic centers nearby.

For recreation, there is swimming, boating, crew clubs, and fishing. Community events include Aquafest each July, an Ironman Triatholon each August, the Bull Trout Regatta in October, and the Winterfest celebration in December. And also, there are several parks in the area as well as the Centennial Trail. Walkers, bicyclists, and horseback riders enjoy this non-motorized trail, which was formerly a railroad and has been converted for recreation purposes.

Fishing and Boating

Anglers take to Lake Stevens year round to fish for bass, perch and annually stocked rainbow trout. Pier fishing is available from Wyatt, Sunset and Northcove parks, while those looking to spend time trolling boatside can enjoy that as well. Three boat launches into the lake are available, including the city boat launch facility that provides a disabled accessible pier. Watercraft such as kayaks and canoes also launch easily from this dock.

Lake Stevens is 30 miles long and connects the cities of Snohomish, Lake Stevens, and Arlington to Skagit County along the highway 9 corridor. For more information about Lake Stevens, click on Lake Stevens.
